Edhy Prabowo's Luxury Bicycle From Abroad Before Being Arrested By The KPK

JAKARTA - Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo apparently bought a bicycle during his visit to the United States, before he was arrested by the KPK for allegedly accepting bribes for export of fry.

According to Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri, this bicycle was bought along with a number of luxury items such as Luis Vuitton bags, Hermes, and Rolex watches which are now confiscated by the KPK.

"(Bicycles, red) buy at the same time as watches and some luxury bags while abroad," Ali told reporters, Friday, November 27.

The KPK will investigate the source of money for the roadbike-type bicycle purchase. In addition, the KPK has not disclosed the value of the bicycle that Edhy bought.

"The source of the money will be further explored and confirmed," he said.

Previously, Edhy was suspected of receiving Rp3.4 billion in bribes, which was later used to buy luxury goods in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. The items he bought were in the form of bags, clothes, and luxury Rolex watches.

In this case, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).

Meanwhile, the giver of the bribe was the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP) Suharjito (SJT).

Edhy Prabowo and a number of suspects were arrested by the KPK prosecution team at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang upon arrival from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

After being named a suspect, Edhy and other suspects were detained at the KPK Detention Center, the Red and White Building, KPK for 20 days. The first period of detention is valid from 25 November to 14 December.
