Bareskrim Traces Rp. 333 Billion Of Kampoeng Kurma's Bodong Investment Fund

JAKARTA - The National Police Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the alleged invalidation of the 'Kampoeng Kurma Group' which offers residential lots under the guise of Sharia. So far, the total reported loss has reached IDR333 billion.

Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono said in the case of Kampoeng Kurma investment, the mode used was by offering 4208 lots plus a bonus for each lot being given one date palm. The victims reached thousands of people.

"It was found that there were 6 locations scattered starting from Bogor district, then Cirebon district, Lebak regency and Pandeglang district," Awi told reporters, Friday, November 27.

In addition, to attract investment enthusiasts, Kampoeng Kurma has also offered promises to establish Islamic boarding schools, mosques, sports arenas and swimming pools around the location.

In an effort to disclose, investigators have examined approximately 35 witnesses to uncover the case of the Kampoeng Kurma bogus investment. Investigators are also investigating assets that are suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

"Around Rp. 333 billion more is used for anything concerned (We are doing) tracing assets," he said.

However, Awi said no assets were confiscated yet. This includes Arifah Husaimah, who is the investment boss. The reason is that investigators are also still exploring the finances of the company.

"This must be clarified. Including clarification of which payments are the DP which is fully paid, it must be clarified," he said.
