Two BUMN Cooperation: SIG And KAI Synergize In Optimizing Cement Transportation
JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI) regarding the Cooperation Plan for the Optimization and Development of Freight Transportation.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was conducted virtually today, Thursday, November 26 by the Director of Marketing and Supply Chain SIG, Adi Munandir and the Commercial Director of KAI, Maqin U. Norhadi.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the President Director of SIG, Hendi Prio Santoso, President Director of KAI, Didiek Hartantyo and the President Director of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI), Aulia Mulki Oemar.
This cooperation includes several activities, among others, increasing cooperation on rail-based transportation and leasing land or buildings for the medium and long term. Conduct joint studies for commercial and operational plans related to railways and infrastructure to support the distribution of GIS products. As well as developing other forms of potential cooperation that can increase the business benefits of both parties.
President Director of SIG, Hendi Prio Santoso, said that the train is one of the important modes of transportation in supporting the Company's logistics. In the future KAI will become one of the strategic partners in line with the development of GIS as a provider of building material solutions.
This cooperation is a synergy to complement each other and provide the best results for both parties. Through the current synergy, it is hoped that it can be more optimal in taking advantage of every opportunity and opportunity that exists. So that they can further contribute to the Company, BUMN, and the Indonesian nation, "said Hendi Prio Santoso in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, November 27.
Furthermore, Hendi Prio Santoso hopes that this cooperation can be realized soon. According to him, this is the first step in a joint commitment.
"Hopefully what are the goals and hopes of this cooperation can run smoothly and in accordance with the planned target time," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of KAI, Didiek Hartantyo said that this collaboration is also an implementation of the core values of AKHLAK as the mandate of the Ministry of BUMN. Through this cooperation, it is hoped that KAI can support the distribution of cement and other products from SIG, especially in the Java and Sumatra regions to create an effective and efficient logistics distribution.
"Apart from that, it also supports government programs in reducing national logistics costs," said Didiek Hartantyo.
Didiek Hartantyo added that in the short-term cooperation scheme, SIG could utilize the Babat station for cement delivery from SIG's and SBI's Tuban Plant.
"As for the long-term scheme, we will see the potential to build infrastructure, connecting from Babat to Tuban through the SIG and SBI factory area. In addition, KAI is also exploring cement shipments from Tonasa via the Makassar to Pare-Pare route. Hopefully through this cooperation can provide more benefits for SIG customers, "concluded Didiek Hartantyo.
