Archbishop Of Nature Reflects On The Commemoration Of Queen Elizabeth II Keeping Good Trusts
JAKARTA - The Archbishop ofwament Justin Welby took to reflect on the promises made well by Queen Elizabeth II, when delivering a sermon at the funeral service held at Westminster Abbey, Monday.
"Pola for many leaders is to be elevated in life and forgotten after death," said the Archbishop of York, citing BBC 19 Septmber.
"The pattern for all those who serve God, famous or unknown, respected or ignored, is that death is a door to glory. His Majesty has famously stated in a 21st birthday broadcast that his entire life will be dedicated to serving the Nation and the Commonwealth. Rarely such promises are properly kept!"
"People who serve with love are rare in any life. Leaders who serve with full love are still rarer. But in all cases, those who serve will be loved and remembered when those who hold fast to power and privilege is forgotten."
"I know Your Majesty has the same faith in Jesus Christ as his mother," he said.
On that occasion, the Archbishop of York also prayed for the royal family left behind by Queen Elizabeth II.
"We pray especially for all of his family, mourning for every family at the funeral - including so many families around the world who recently lost someone - but in this family case do so in the spotlight."
He reflected on the Queen's broadcast during the coronavirus which ended in words from the famous Vera Lynn song: "We will meet again."
The Archbishop of York ended his sermon by saying "we can all share the hopes of the Queen who in life and death inspired your servant's leadership".
"Service in life, hope in death.
"Everyone who follows the role model of the Queen, and the inspiration for trust and faith in God, can be with her saying: 'We will meet again.'"
