Central Java Akhirnya Deflasi, Ganjar Pranowo: Tugas Saya Pasti Produsi Lancar
JAKARTA - The Central Java Provincial Government has succeeded in maintaining the prices of various types of community needs. The Central Java Statistics Agency report said the province had deflation last August.
Central Java experienced a decline in food and non-food commodity prices by -0.39 percent in August 2022. This number exceeds the national deflation rate recorded at -0.21 percent.
The deflation cannot be separated from a number of efforts made by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. For example, he intervened, carried out market operations to disbursed aid to maintain people's purchasing power.
Ganjar also went directly to the field such as markets, gas stations, fish auctions to fishing villages to ensure that the community's needs could be met and the assistance provided was also right on target.
"So we control the components that we can control. Including how we can control people's purchasing power and the assistance that came down today, we make sure it reaches the community and is right on target. If it is right on target, the community will be comfortable," said Ganjar, Friday, September 16.
"My job is to ensure that the production remains smooth, including checking diesel fuel for fishermen. So that people will be happy to get it all," continued Ganjar.
Head of Bank Indonesia Central Java Representative Rahmat Dwi Saputra ensured that inflation in Central Java was still under control. He said that the inflation of the Year to Date ( calendar year) January-August 2022 was 3.87 percent. That figure is the third lowest after DKI Jakarta and Banten.
Rahmat said there are several methods of calculating inflation. First, through the Year to Date method or calendar year and year on Year or year to year.
He explained, year on Year (YoY) inflation in Central Java reached 5.03 percent (August 2021-August 2022). Meanwhile, in the calculation method, the Central Java inflation calendar reached 3.87 percent.
If it is calculated from January to August 2022 (inflation) it is relatively small, namely 3.87 percent. This means that the national inflation is still being targeted, in the national inflation target it is 3 percent plus minus 1 percent. This means that the realization is still in the range. And the realization is the third lowest after DKI and Banten," he said.
He said the inflation was driven by the increase in a number of horticultural commodities, such as chili, shallots and green chilies. The increase in basic goods was due to weather conditions that influenced the planting pattern.
However, along with the horticultural harvest, in August 2022 Central Java actually experienced price deflation or decrease. The deflation in Central Java at that time was quite large, namely -0.39 percent or above the national deflation which was only -0.21 percent.
