Governor Anies Affirms Ready For Presidential Schools, PDIP: It's A Lack Of Ethics, For Example, Always Assessment Of Meetings With DPRD
JAKARTA - Member of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Gilbert views DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's statement that he is ready to run as a presidential candidate for the 2024 election as unethical.
This is because Anies' term of office in Jakarta is not over yet. Anies' position as Governor of DKI Jakarta will only be completed on October 16.
"I see that the answer to becoming a presidential election is not appropriate / ethical, currently still in office," Gilbert said in a short message, Friday, September 16.
However, Gilbert continued, Anies' behavior has indeed been shown several times while leading Jakarta. In several plenary meetings with the DPRD, Anies was often absent and represented by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria.
"But Bung Anies doesn't understand ethics, that's it. For example, meetings with DPRD are almost always absent," said Gilbert.
Furthermore, Gilbert views that the plan to nominate a presidential candidate is actually Anies' personal right. However, Gilbert questioned whether there was a party or coalition of parties willing to carry it or not.
Because, according to Gilbert, political parties want their cadres more to be promoted in the presidential election in the next two years.
"I think it's a good decision, and the right. We'll see if there are parties that want to accept it, because it's appropriate for those who sweat to build a party that is usually nominated," he said.
Previously, in Singapore, Anies stated that he was ready to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election if there were political parties or coalitions of political parties who wanted to carry them.
"I am ready to run for president if a party nominates me," Anies told Reuters in an interview in Singapore, Thursday, September 15.
Anies revealed that he has room to communicate with all parties in order to participate in the political contestation in the next two years. Because, he is a political figure who is on an independent path and does not join any party.
Anies also responded to several results of a presidential candidate survey showing that his current electability is among the highest. "This unsolicited survey happened even before I campaigned, I think they gave me more credibility," said Anies.
