The Story Of The Band Fleet Personnel Since Staying 15 Years

JAKARTA - The Band Fleet still exists and lasts for 15 years even though there are currently only three personnel left. The fleet's vocalist, Rizal, said that the common vision and mission is one of the reasons or recipes why the band from Palembang is still working.

"The vaccines are still the same, still want to keep working, still want to continue to give the best we have for all Indonesian music listeners," Rizal said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 15.

"Even though there are three now, it's the same as our fifth album, the title "Forwards Continue to Stay Back", God willing, we can continue whatever happens," he added.

The Fleet name was formed in 2007 by five personnel including Rizal (vocals), badminton (guitar), Mai (guitar), Endra (bass), and Andit (drums). Previously, this band was named Paper which was founded in 2005.

Currently, the Fleet leaves Rizal, Mai, and Andit. access decided to leave the band in 2018 because they wanted to follow the call of the heart to explore religion, while Endra left the Fleet in 2020 after it was discovered that he had meningitis disease so he could not carry out his full activities.

Rizal described Fleet's journey in starting a music career by wandering to Jakarta which was filled with struggles, especially how to earn enough income to finance the survival of their respective families.

We made the Fleet band from the start, full of sweat. We are overseas children. The five of us are all personnel from Palembang. In 2005, we migrated to Jakarta with nothing capital," continued Mai.

"If you can say that from 2005 to 2009 it really tried to survive, if the term is from that person (holding on) the 'hardness of the capital', what is it like. We once felt unable to eat, two to three days we could only drink warm water and eat boiled noodles," said Mai again.

So far, the Fleet has released eight albums, including the 'Unresponded Economy' (2006) when the band was named Kertas.

The album "Revenges" which was released in 2008 pushed the name Fleet toll, continuing on the album "The Greatest thing" (2009) which further catapulted the band's popularity with songs such as "Want to Take to Mana" and "Open Your Heart".

Album One Million Hearts (2012) and Morning Home Morning (2014) get a multi-platdum predicate with CD sales that exceed 100,000 copies for each album.

Their singles entitled "Asal Kau Bahagia" are also one of the most watched lyric videos from Indonesia on the YouTube channel. As of January 2021, the video has been watched 350 million times.

During these 15 years, what we got was not only material, popularity, and all kinds of things, but it turned out that there was a sense of satisfaction in quotes from many people who grew up together with Fleet songs. Not a few of us might hear the Fleet from junior high school, said Rizal.

Mai added another recipe for why Fleet has remained as a band for 15 years because they keep trying to never stop issuing works. According to Andit, together for 15 years is not something that is easy with the many experiences that have been passed. For Andit, that time has forged the mentality and maturity of the personnel.

Celebrating 15 years of the band's work, Armada also announced that it will hold its first single concert in 15 cities in Indonesia, starting on 8 October in Medan. Fleets will be present in other cities until early next year and end in the city of Palembang.

"We are very touched. One of the Fleet's ideals for a single concert can be achieved at the age of 15 years. In the past, we imagined that we would make a single concert later on the 25th or 30th birthday. I didn't expect it to be this fast. We thank friends who support the Fleet from the first album to the last album," said Mai.
