PPP Urges HIP Bill To Be Issued From Prolegnas 2021

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) has urged the DPR RI Legislation Body to issue the Pancasila Ideology Direction Bill (RUU HIP) from the 2021 priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

"PPP asked the DPR and the Government not to continue the inclusion of the HIP Bill in the National Legislation Program," said PPP Secretary General Arsul Sani in a written statement, Thursday, November 26.

Arsul explained the reason for his refusal to enter the HIP Bill in Prolegnas. The government, in the past 3 sessions, changed the substance of this bill to simply become an institutional bill, namely the BPIP Bill.

This response is contained in the problem inventory list (DIM) submitted by the Government to the DPR. According to Arsul, from the overall DIM, the substance of the bill that the Government wanted was to change the total content of the HIP Bill.

"Therefore, PPP is of the opinion that it is no longer relevant to include the HIP Bill in Prolegnas," said Arsul.

In addition, the HIP Bill was rejected by various groups of society, both in substance and in material. From here, according to him, the requirements of a law are not fulfilled by the Draft Law on HIP if you look at the sociological and philosophical aspects of acceptance.

"PPP noted that no one would support it if the bill was discussed with controversial substance like the one in the HIP Bill," said Arsul.

"However, PPP respects the rights of any faction or the government to submit the BPIP Bill. This should be socialized and the public consultation room should be opened first," he continued.

As is well known, three Bills block the Legislation Body of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia from reaching an agreement regarding the composition of the priority National Legislation Program for 2021.

Chairman of the DPR RI Baleg Supratman Andi Agtas said the three bills were the Draft Law on Pancasila Ideology (RUU HIP), the Draft Law on Family Resilience, and the Draft Law on Amendments to Law (UU) Number 23 years. 1999 concerning Bank Indonesia (BI).

"Between the government and the factions in the DPR RI regarding the decision tonight related to the three Drafts of Law that I mentioned earlier, the factions still need time to lobby, deepen. And because of that, we have agreed together. with the government, DPD, and DPR RI, we postpone the decision-making process until tomorrow, "said Supratman.
