Central BPJT Re-examines Service Standard Regulations For Minimum Toll Roads

JAKARTA - Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Danang Parikesit said his party was in the process of reviewing the PUPR Ministerial Regulation (Permen) regarding the toll road minimum service standards (SPM)."We are in the process of reviewing the Ministerial Regulation on SPM, which we hope can respond to new things regarding toll road services," Danang said during a hearing (RDP) with Commission V of the DPR RI in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 15.Danang said a re-test needed to be carried out following the PUPR Regulation Number 16/PRT/M/2014 concerning the Minimum Service Standard (SPM) of the Toll Road which had not been updated since 2014."People's expectations continue to increase, the road (toll) is connected, the conditions are good, so public expectations are also increasing," he said.Danang also said that the review of the Permen will also include performance indicators for the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF)-based non-contact toll transaction system. The non-contact toll transaction itself is planned to be implemented in 2023.Chairman of Commission V of the DPR RI Lasarus, on the same occasion, reminded the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR and BPJT to continue to pay attention to the fulfillment of toll road SPMs, especially regarding evaluation and adjustment of toll rates."The House of Representatives Commission V asked the Directorate General of Highways and BPJT to evaluate and adjust to toll rates not only pay attention to the feasibility of toll road investment and capacity, but also pay attention to the fulfillment of toll road SPMs," he said.Meanwhile, the Director General of Highways at the PUPR Ministry, Hedy Rahadian, ensured that his party would continue to improve the implementation of SPM.He said the toll road SPM includes road conditions, average travel speed, accessibility, mobility, safety, assistance and assistance units and the environment."Currently, both from Bina Marga, BPJT, it has its own unit, we are improving how this SPM can run more strictly and better," said Hedy.
