50,000 INDODAX User Credentials Allegedly Wacor, Oscar Darmawan: Can Be Ensured Hoax

JAKARTA - Around 50,000 users of the Indonesia's largest crypto exchange "INDODAYA" are allegedly leaked to the dark web, according to a report from Dark Tracker on Wednesday, September 14 this afternoon.

Based on existing information, of the number of credentials allegedly leaked, most (82.7%) are credentials from Indonesian users.

"About 50,000 users' credentials from the Indonesia's largest crypto exchange "INDODAX" were leaked to the dark web by stealing malware. Of this number, 82.7% are Indonesian user credentials," Dark Trackers wrote on Twitter.

The existence of these allegations then caused unrest in the community. Knowing that INDODAX is the largest and most trusted crypto exchange company in Indonesia.

Responding to the issue, INDODAX CEO, Oscar Darmawan immediately denied the existence of the credential leak.

"Regarding the news that the hackers have member data from the results of the INDODAX server attack, we can confirm that it is a hoax because we can confirm that the INDODAX server is safe," Oscar said in a statement via INDODAX PR to VOI when confirmed.

Oscar also said that INDODAX has implemented Multi Factor Authentication and other layered security security security measures.

"So, without access to the cellphone owned by the member, anyone cannot access the account other than the related member," he explained further.

Oscars also invite their members to jointly maintain the security of their respective data by being careful when logging in, ensuring that the website opened is the correct INDODAYA address, and does not just download crypto-related chats in the browser, because they are prone to being infiltrated by viruses or malware.

"We urge INDODAYA members to always ensure that the cellphones and browsers used for trading are safe and clean from the virus," he said.
