The DPR Has The Value Of Amendments To The Cooperative Law To Be More Adaptive And Follow Age Developments
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the House of Representatives, Mufti Anam, believes that it is necessary to amend Law No. 25 of 1992 concerning Cooperatives so that they are more adaptive and able to keep up with the times.
According to him, the law cannot accommodate the interests of cooperatives at this time.
"The law that was created in the old era to be carried out in a situation that today is certainly much different. Now people, for example, are looking for ease through applications and the internet, so what we have to do today is adapt the existing laws," said Mufti, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 14.
If there is a change in the law, the cooperative can provide convenience for people who want to use the function of cooperatives.
"That's what we are pushing for. The matter of today's cooperatives is it good and in principle, at that time it was good, but on the one hand it is not for the climate of cooperatives since many legal entities have emerged under the guise of cooperatives that harm the community or fraudulent investment under the guise of cooperatives," said Mufti.
The existence of facts about legal entities under the guise of cooperatives is one of the reasons for changing the Cooperative Law is needed for a better supervisory function.
Therefore, his party encourages an adaptive law for cooperatives to be completed and promulgated immediately.
"For this year, we have proposed, but some time ago we are still considering whether the target is completed this year or next year. Of course this is an urgent need, so at every opportunity we are trying to get into the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) so that it will be realized immediately because it is the need of our society," he said.
