Tips From Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Improve Dakwah Quality: Don't Let Our Talks Be Like Non-Based

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said that the current number of da'wah in quantity is already large. But what is lacking is in terms of quality.

"If you look at the frequency of our da'wah, it's actually quite crowded, whenever we open it, there are many da'wah people on social media, in mosques, in the assembly, so there is quite a lot of volume, maybe what needs to be improved is the quality of the content (so that) according to taste, with desire, in the way that is in demand right now," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 14.

The Vice President conveyed this at the opening ceremony of the Al Ittihadiyah XX Congress which was carried out in a "hybrid" manner with some congress participants present at the Vice Presidential Palace and partly at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, East Jakarta.

"The way we convey it maybe shouldn't be too textual, it takes a little description to provide a clearer picture, like something more interesting," said the Vice President.

According to the Vice President, the improvement in the quality of the da'wah must start from improving the quality of the preacher.

"There is a cleric, Ibnu Umar Ra was asked 'Why are the words of the salaf people more useful than our words?' What did he answer? 'He said 'They speak for Islam, they speak for the glory of Islam and the benefit of many souls and the wisdom of Allah,' added the Vice President.

According to the Vice President, when a preacher speaks for his own fame and glory, his words are useless.

"So there are a lot of movements, the results are few, in the past, not many words, but the results are many. One of the things we enjoy now is that this country is the majority Muslim because of the way they convey it," said the Vice President.

The current task of preachers, said the Vice President, is how to take care of the people who are already many and kind in order to strengthen their faith.

"Don't let our words seem like they don't have marks, there is no suspicion, there are no marks, now this may need to be improved and accepted by the public," said the Vice President.

Not to forget, Islamic organizations also need to think about cadres of dai which are not just material regeneration but also personal regeneration of dai people.

Al Ittihadiyah is an Islamic organization that was founded in 1935. Born as a unifying and glue of the people when there was a division. The community organization, which was founded in Medan, is one of the founders of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), plays a role in education, da'wah, economy, and social affairs.
