The Surabaya City Government Asks Fishermen To Monitor Weather Forecasts During Maritime Affairs

JAKARTA - The Surabaya City Government appealed to fishermen on the coast of the City of Heroes, East Java, to always pay attention to the safety aspect when going to sea.

"We remind that the safety aspect of going to sea is important. So fishermen must pay attention to the weather because the city government has provided weather information signs and then periodic training and socialization are also given," said Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji in Surabaya, Wednesday, September 14.

Armuji's statement followed up on information that a fisherman had been missing while at sea on Sunday (11/9). The fisherman is Hasan (70) a resident of Nambangan Perak Gang 5, Kedung Cowek Village, Bulak District, Surabaya City.

Based on information from the Surabaya Command Center, joint officers from the Surabaya City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Basarnas and the Fishermen's Paguyuban managed to find Hasan in a weak condition in the Sejati Village Beach area, Camplong District, Sampang, Madura, on Monday (12/9).

Armuji met Hasan at his residence on Tuesday (13/9) afternoon. He was happy that Hasan was found safe.

"Alhamdulillah, Mbah Hasan's condition is safe and can reunite with his family, hopefully this kind of incident will not happen again to the residents of Surabaya," he said, quoted from Antara.

Deputy Mayor Armuji also received information that until now Hasan's boat is still at Camplong Beach.

For this reason, Cak Ji, Armuji's nickname, ordered the Surabaya Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP) to coordinate with fishing groups and families to be able to bring back Hasan's boat.

At that time, Armuji also gave gifts and affection to Hasan and his family. He also asked the elderly Hasan not to go to sea because of the age factor.
