Microsoft Stop Adobe Flash Player Plugin Support

JAKARTA - Microsoft will remove the Adobe Flash Player plugin from Windows 10. The support will end on December 31 or early January 2021.

Quoting from Engadget, the latest Windows 10 update version (KB4577586) will eliminate the ability of the Flash Player already installed on Windows 10. Even so, the Flash Player plugin embedded in Chromium-based browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge will not disappear. .

"As previously announced in July 2017, Adobe will stop distributing and updating Flash Player after December 31, 2020 (EOL / end of life date), said software company Adobe in an official statement on its support page, quoted Wednesday, November 25.

Prior to this, Microsoft has also announced their timeline regarding plans to eliminate Flash Player. The plan is that they will release a tool to remove Flash Player as an optional update in the Windows update in early 2021.

Adobe will end the development of Flash Player in 2020. Later they will also tell you how to uninstall or remove Flash Player from your computer or laptop.

"We release this removal update prior to the end of support to help users test and validate their environment for any impacts that may occur as a result of removing Adobe Flash Player," said Microsoft.

Adobe's reason for ending its Flash Player plugin service is because it wants to give developers the opportunity to develop open platforms such as HTML5, WebGL, and WebAssembly that have continued to evolve over the years and serve as viable alternatives to Flash content.
