KSDI Together With Nokia And Quallcomm Collaborate To Launch Community Based Smartphone

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Village Satellite Cooperative (KSDI) with Innovator 4.0 Indonesia launched a smart phone (smartphone) with a special digital content and platform called Desanova.

Desanova is a project from KSDI in collaboration with PT Kiniku Nusa Kreasi, accompanied by HMD Global as the exclusive licensee for the Nokia brand for mobile phones and tablets, and Qualcomm, the world's largest smartphone chipset developer technology company.

"Desanova is an interesting collaborative project between digital technology activists from villages within the KSDI forum, with various leading technology companies, institutions and communities, namely Innovator 4.0 Indonesia, an association that gathers talented Indonesian human resources (human resources) who will support this project in the form of digital literacy, training and knowledge transfer, "said Chairman of Innovators 4.0 Indonesia and Chairman of the KSDI Supervisory Board, Budiman Sudjatmiko in a written statement, Wednesday, November 25.

Budiman said this during the cooperation agreement in Bojongkoneng Village, Bogor Regency, West Java today. KSDI is a national level cooperative that specializes in social businesses in the digital technology sector and currently has networks in 15 provinces with up to 10 thousand members, the majority of whom are rural communities.

Desanova will develop various digital solutions for the needs of KSDI members in particular and village communities in the next development. The digital solutions will be packaged in various technological devices, including smartphones, drones, IOT (internet of things), automation robots and others.

"In the first stage, KSDI and its partners will produce a smartphone series with special content called Desanova by Nokia," said Budiman.

In addition, Desanova will also be supported by HMD Global which provides smartphones in which several of the newest series will be built co-branding with KSDI. Qualcomm will support this project by providing high quality smartphone chipsets, while Kiniku Nusa Kreasi will act as a System Integrator.

"This is certainly a proud first step for KSDI, rural communities and Indonesia in general, because it proves that a cooperative built by rural communities has ample opportunity to be involved in the development of digital technology since the production process and design, not just being a cooperative. the market for finished product users, "said Budiman Sudjatmiko.
