Trade Minister Zulhas After Exporting 6,700 Nike Skates To The Netherlands, The Value Is 211 Thousand US Dollars
JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan released the export of 6,700 pairs of Nike shoes with 99 containers to Heijen, Limburg, Netherlands.
The total transaction value reached 211,518 US dollars.
The export release was carried out at the Nike factory, PT Pratama Abadi Industri, located in North Serpong, South Tangerang City, Banten, on Tuesday, September 13.
"I am happy and happy, today there was also the release of exports of Nike footwear products by PT Pratama Abadi to the Netherlands with a transaction value of 211,518 US dollars," said Zulhas as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called at the location.
On this occasion, Zulhas emphasized that labor-intensive industries are very important for Indonesia. This is because this industry has absorbed a lot of workforce. For example, the Nike shoe factory in Garut, which has absorbed 40,000 employees.
Therefore, continued Zulhas, the government will continue to support labor-intensive industries in the country to survive. Not enough to survive, but also develop even better.
"We, the government, will certainly support as much as we can so that this labor-intensive industry continues to survive and develop," he said.
Meanwhile, the Owner of PT Pratama Abadi Industri Yeong Yul Seo explained that his company has been established for 33 years, some industry players are labor-intensive and export-oriented.
Yeong Yul admitted that he owns 4 factories with 3 other branches in Sukabumi, West Java; Pleret, and Garut.
Furthermore, he said, his company has a total of 40,000 employees.
With a production capacity of 3.6 million pairs of shoes per month and the export value reached 550 million US dollars in 2021.
"Thanks to the government's support and Nike's trust, our company can survive in the current pandemic situation," he said.
Yeong Yul hopes that the government will fully support policies that make it easier for labor-intensive industries to continue to develop.
"So that we can continue to create jobs," he said.
Director of Nike Indonesia, Joseph Warren, said he was very proud and grateful for the opportunity and time launched by Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan to witness the release of footwear exports by Pratama Indonesia, which this time as many as 99 containers for export purposes to the European Union.
"European Union is the largest export destination for Nike products made in Indonesia. With a total export every year of US$707 million, all of which are made in 39 Nike factories in our beloved country. Exports this time are very meaningful to us and our factory networks in Indonesia," said Warren.
