SEMARANG - Semarang Police Chief, Kombes Irwan Anwar revealed, the body of a man found in the Marina area, Semarang City, Central Java, on September 8, 2022, was already dead before being burned."From the results of the laboratory examination, the body was already dead and then burned," Irwan told reporters in Semarang, Antara, Tuesday, September 13.There is a difference between the condition of the body that is burned alive or after death. Irwan said there was a crime in the discovery of the body related to the condition that had died before being burned.With this condition, the police will continue to investigate, regardless of whether the body is Iwan Budi Paulus, a civil servant of the Semarang City Government who was reported missing a few weeks ago or not."We will investigate whoever the body is," added the Chief of Police.According to Irwan, his party has not yet been able to confirm whether the body of the man who burned was Iwan Budi Paulus or not. Currently, investigators are still waiting for the results of the DNA test matched with his family.The Semarang Polrestabes is supported by the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Central Java Regional Police and the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency in investigating this case.Previously, a body was found on fire along with a motorbike in the Marina Beach area, Semarang City, Central Java, Thursday, September 8, 2022.The discovery of the body stems from the finding of a motorcycle that caught fire by one of the land guards belonging to PT Family.Together with the body and motorbike which are official vehicles belonging to Iwan Budi, a laptop, identity sign, and a cell phone that allegedly belonged to the victim were also found.Iwan Budi Paulus was reported missing the day before being examined as a witness at the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police regarding the alleged corruption case of transferring assets.
