Megawati Calls Pancasila Can Be Used Around The World For Peace
JAKARTA - The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri emphasized that Pancasila has universal values so that it can be used by all nations in the world. It could also solve the problem of peace.
"All nations are of course with their internal will and interests as well. However, the response with Pancasila is very positive because in each of the five precepts they always have admiration from the first to fifth precepts so I think this is actually universal, it can be used by the world," Megawati said in a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 13.
Megawati Soekarnoputri made this statement regarding the response of other countries to the idea of Pancasila for world peace and she said her response was good.
On Thursday (15/9), Megawati is scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity in South Korea. According to information, there were around 2,000 participants present at the 17th Jeju Forum.
A number of important guests or VIPs from various countries are scheduled to attend and deliver material at this event. In addition to delivering a speech, Megawati will distribute the book Pancasila, the Indonesian State Basis in English.
"I was invited to be a keynote speaker because I always say that Indonesia, thank God, has Pancasila which is actually very usable for all nations in the world, especially in terms of peace issues," said Megawati, who is currently in Jeju.
Megawati said that this event was her third time in South Korea to speak at the peace forum.
In addition to the 17th Jeju Forum this year, Megawati has also been a speaker at the same forum in 2017 and the DMZ International Forum on the Peace Economy in 2019.
During his tenure as President of the Republic of Indonesia and after his tenure, Megawati was noted to have visited Pyongyang, North Korea several times to bring a peace message.
Megawati revealed that she has a close relationship with South Korea and North Korea. The two countries for Megawati are like family.
"Very close because the leaders in North Korea and South Korea really want me to be a special envoy between the two families, if I say family," said Megawati.
