A Number Of Kios At Tanjung Priok Terminal Were Torn Down By Officers

JAKARTA - A number of kiosk-shaped buildings at Tanjung Priok Terminal, North Jakarta, were torn down for repairs or restructuring. The head of the Tanjung Priok Terminal Administrative Section, Riyadi, said that the demolition of the kiosks was used to improve services as well as increase the comfort of visitors.

"We are making efforts to repair the building," Riyadi said quoting Antara, Monday, September 12.

Riyadi said officers had dismantled the entire building. Now the stalls at the terminal have been razed to the ground.

The plan is for the building to be demolished to be replaced by a two-story building. The first floor will be used as a shop or kiosk, waiting room for passengers and toilets, while the second floor will be used as a counter.

Riyadi said the construction process would take three to four months.

"The demolition has started this month. We hope the construction process will be completed in the next three or four months," said Riyadi.

Riyadi hopes that the repair work can be completed in mid-December, to accommodate public services during the 2023 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub) plans to increase the Standard for Organizing Services (SPP) at Tanjung Priok Terminal, North Jakarta, in 2022, considering that the Tanjung Priok Terminal is a Type A Terminal that has quite a lot of bus movements and passengers.

Improvements include structuring the main and supporting facilities in the Tanjung Priok Terminal. The increase in the Tanjung Priok Terminal SPP is estimated to use a budget of IDR 5 billion.
