3 Roads Flooded After Heavy Rain Flooded Jakarta

JAKARTA - Heavy rains that flushed Jakarta resulted in inundation of three highways. All flooded roads are in South Jakarta.

Based on data held by the DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) at around 16.00 WIB, the first flooded road was on Jalan Tebet Barat Dalam Raya with a water level of 30 centimeters.

Second, Jalan Asem Baris Raya, Kebon Baru was inundated with a water level of 20 to 50 centimeters. Third, Jalan MT Haryono 815, Pancoran, with a water level of 10 to 20 centimeters.

"Three points of the road were flooded in the South Jakarta area due to high rainfall," said Head of Disaster Management Agency for DKI Jakarta BPBD M. Insaf in his statement, Wednesday, November 25.

Apart from roads, Insaf also revealed that four RTs in South Jakarta and East Jakarta were also inundated. The puddles are in 1 RT in Kalibata Village, 1 RT in Rajawali, 1 RT in Kebon Baru, and 1 RT in Gedong.

"Each RT in the Kelurahan Rajawali, Kebon Baru, and Gedong has puddles with a water level of up to 20 centimeters. Meanwhile, 1 RT in Kelurahan Kalibata has water levels of up to 40 centimeters," explained Insaf.

Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted moderate to heavy rain at 16.00 WIB in five administrative cities in DKI.

In North Jakarta, rain is predicted to occur in Lake Sunter, Tanjung Priok, Penjaringan, Koja, Pademangan, Cilincing, and Kelapa Gading. In the city of Jakarta are located in Tambora and Taman Sari. In the city of Central Jakarta, they are located in Sawah Besar, Kemayoran, Gambir, Senen, Cempaka Putih, Menteng, Tanah Abang, and Johar Baru.

In East Jakarta, there are Pulogadung, Jatinegara, Cakung, Matraman, Kramatjati, Pasar Rebo, Duren Sawit, Makasar, Ciracas, and Cipayung. In the city of South Jakarta, they are located in Tebet, Setiabudi, Mampang Prapatan, Pasar Minggu, Cilandak, Kebayoran Baru, Pancoran, and Jagakarsa.
