JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that his party had given permission to the task force regarding the series of arrests of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo. Including wiretapping permits.

KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris said that in the process of investigating the alleged corruption related to the lobster seed export, investigators had even submitted a number of phone numbers for wiretapping before the arrest was made. This means that the KPK has been stalking those who were arrested since before the arrest.

"Yes (the one who applied for the permit, red) was tapping. The number was tapped," said Syamsuddin when contacted, Wednesday, November 25.

He also said that the investigation team had submitted additional numbers to the dewas several times.

However, when confirmed regarding when the permit was submitted and received by the KPK Supervisory Board, Haris said he did not remember for sure.

"In fact, I added the number several times. I forgot exactly when, because there were many permits for other cases too," said Syamsuddin

Previously reported, the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed that his men arrested the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo.

This arrest was carried out by the prosecution team after Edhy and his entourage arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, to be precise at Terminal 3 of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

In addition to arresting Edhy and his wife, the KPK also arrested dozens of other parties from officials at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) and the private sector. The total number of parties arrested by the KPK reached 17 people.

Currently, Minister Edhy and his wife, as well as a number of other people who have been detained, are currently still in an intensive investigation process.

"Currently, the KPK is still conducting an intensive examination of the 17 people for 1x24 hours," said Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri.
