This Is The Reason Carlos Vela Doesn't Want To Play For Mexico In The 2022 World Cup
JAKARTA - There has been a lot of talk in Mexico about Gerardo 'Tata' certain decisions Martino ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
His poor relationship with experienced striker Javier Hernandez, who is not in Martino's plans, has been the subject of debate throughout the season.
Many fans tried to persuade and convince the national team coach to change his decision, mostly coming from MLS. However, Martino doesn't seem to want to do it.
Another striker that is always talked about is Carlos Vela. The LAFC player is a very important member of Mexico's national team, but he didn't make any recent calls.
However, the situation is different from Chicharito, because this is a personal decision.
In an interview with SDP Noticias media outlet, the former Real Sociedad striker revealed the reason why he didn't want to be in Qatar in November.
"It's not a matter of joy," Vela said, quoted by Marca, Monday.
When I am available and playing for Mexico, I am excited to play in the World Cup and defend my country. But there are stages in football and life.
When you close a chapter, you have to let others do their job. We have to support the team we lead and wish the best for those who Tata decides to bring in.
"I wish them good form in the World Cup, they can go as far as possible and one day we become champions, which I think is the dream of every Mexican."
Both coaches and fans continue to encourage Vela to take part in her final international tournament. However, the player remains reluctant.
