The Price Of Cement In Papua Immediately Continued, Increasing By Rp. 200 Thousand Per Sak
JAKARTA - The price of cement in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua rose to IDR 650,000 per bag. That price changed after the price of fuel oil (BBM) which rose in early September 2022.
Chairman of Commission B of the Jayawijaya DPRD, Iwan Asso, in Wamena, said that the change in the price of fuel quickly affected other prices in Jayawijaya.
"The initial Semen was IDR 450.000, today it has increased to IDR 650,000. This is the result of what happened at the center (the latest fuel price determination)," said Iwan, quoted from Antara, Saturday, September 10.
He said, it was not only the price of cement that rose. There are still some commodities that are crawling up without the need to wait for the determination of changes in prices from the government.
"The price at the terminal has started to feel, there are kiosks that have gone up, some have not, plane tickets have started to feel, this is the result of the price of fuel that has gone up," he said.
The Jayawijaya DPRD will ask the relevant agencies to monitor fluctuations in commodity prices to prevent high inflation.
"We at the commission will call the relevant agencies, hold a meeting to anticipate soaring prices," he said.
Earlier on Thursday, (8/9) Jayawijaya students held a peaceful demonstration against the increase in fuel prices and the DPRD promised to pass on the aspirations to the highest leadership.
