By Fire, 30 Kg Of Dried Marijuana Was Destroyed By The Karimun Police
KEPRI - Karimun Police destroyed evidence of 30 kilograms of dried marijuana ready to be distributed by burning. The fire was carried out at the Karimun Police Headquarters, Riau Islands (Kepri).
"Evidence of marijuana-type narcotics was destroyed by burning, which was witnessed directly by the suspect and other agencies concerned," said Karimun Police Chief AKBP Tony Pantano in Karimun, Riau Islands, quoted from Antara, Friday 9 September.
Tony explained that the evidence of the destroyed dried marijuana was obtained from the arrests of two suspects, namely MT and NR.
The first arrest was that there were nine packs of dried marijuana wrapped in brown tape with a net weight of 612 grams.
Then, set aside as much as 25 grams to be taken to the Riau Police Forensic Laboratory and the rest to 587 grams to be destroyed.
Then the second, there were 30 packs of dried marijuana wrapped in brown tape with a net weight of 30,000 grams and then set aside as much as 175 grams to be taken to the Riau Police Forensic Laboratory and the rest to 29,825 grams to be destroyed.
"So a total of 30,412 grams or 30 kilograms were destroyed," Tony said.
The articles alleged to the suspect are violating Article 114 paragraphs (1) and 2) Subsidiary Article 111 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.
"With a minimum penalty of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison or a life sentence or a death penalty or a fine of Rp. 1,000,000,000 to Rp. 10,000,000,000," he said.
