Remembering PSG's Defeat In The 2020 UCL Final, Mbappe: I Just Want To Cry And Be Alone
JAKARTA - Kylian Mbappe is determined to win the Champions League title with Paris Saint-Germain. And he was so close to the title in 2020 before PSG was defeated by Bayern Munich with a narrow score of 1-0.
The French national team striker now revealed how difficult it was to accept the defeat.
"When we lost in the Champions League to Paris, in the final," he told the Wall Street Journal when asked what his toughest defeat was.
"You finish the game, you take your medal, and you see the trophy, but it's not for you. It's a strange feeling, but that's life.
"To be honest, I want to cry. You just want to cry. You want to be alone. But, it's part of your history, and you have to improve to come back and win."
Mbappe was also asked during the interview about how he was in terms of his character and what he wanted to change.
"I'm too competitive," he replied.
"It's good to be competitive on the pitch, but sometimes in your life you don't have to be like this.
"So, hold on a little bit. Yes, a little more."
However, Mbappe likes to be part of a group and calls it the main trait he is looking for in his team-mates.
"It's a collective spirit, because that's the most important thing," he said.
You can have the best players in the world, but if we're not in the same spirit, we can't win important things."
