Take Over For Cases Of Bawang Seed Corruption From The NTT Police, KPK: This Is Synergy Of Law Enforcement Institutions

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has taken over the handling of alleged corruption in the procurement of onions seeds at the Department of Horticultural Food Crops and Plantations in Malacca Regency in 2018.Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the alleged corruption was initially handled by the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police.However, due to protracted and ineffective handling, supervision was finally carried out in accordance with Article 10A Paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2019."In accordance with the provisions of Article 10A paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the KPK, the case in question is a public concern with many public complaints and the handling of cases is also protracted and ineffective and difficult to resolve according to considerations from NTT Police investigators," Ali told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, September 8.In this case, nine suspects have been named, namely the Head of the Horticulture Food Crops Service, Commitment Making Officer/PPK and other ASN officials within the NTT Malacca Regency Government.These nine suspects are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) or 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law. The state losses they caused reached Rp5.2 billion.Furthermore, Ali said that the capture of this case was a form of synergy between law enforcers in the country."The synergy between APH in resolving corruption cases is an important key in the context of efforts to eradicate corruption through enforcement strategies," he concluded.
