JAKARTA - The National Police will investigate videos on social media that are suspected of insulting President Joko Widodo and the Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani.
In the video uploaded by the TikTok account @acygacalfarucha, it says that the two state officials are animal-hunting.
"We have clarified to the cyber team how far it has been handled," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Tuesday, November 24.
Awi said that later if investigators decide to investigate the allegation, all developments will be conveyed. But for now, no legal action has been taken regarding this matter.
"We will see the progress if there is an update," he said.
For information, in the video there are two overlapping photos showing the figures of Joko Widodo and Puan Maharani. In the upload, both of them were without a few people.
While Joko Widodo was seen with Vice President Maruf Amin and several other people. In the video, they seem to be entering a meeting room at the Palace.
