Social Minister Risma Asked For A Sentence For Suspects Of Sexual Violence Against Disabled And Weighted In Three Sentences
PALU - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini highlighted nine cases of sexual violence against people with disabilities in Central Sulawesi (Sulteng).
"The entire community and local governments should protect people with disabilities, not even make them objects of violence," said Risma in Palu, Central Sulawesi, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 7.
He explained that the existence of people with disabilities in the midst of a social environment should be able to foster affection, concern, and sensitivity among human beings.
Because, according to him, no one wants this condition and vice versa can be experienced by everyone.
Therefore, he requested that people with disabilities should receive the same award while in public spaces, one way to do this is by providing adequate facilities.
"Frankly, we from the Ministry of Social Affairs are fighting injustice against people with disabilities," explained Risma.
Regarding various cases of sexual violence experienced by people with disabilities, he requested that law enforcement officers work optimally.
"Because if it is done to people with disabilities, then the punishment must be increased by a third, so the weight is there, and it is an effort that we are currently fighting for," he concluded.
