Officially! Online Ojek Tariffs Rise As Of September 10, Here Are Details Based On Three Zonings

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation has officially increased the rate of online motorcycle taxis or ojol. This new tariff will take effect three days after the determination or to be precise as of September 10. The increase in tariffs is different from each zone.

"This adjustment of service costs is carried out in the context of adjusting several service components such as fuel, UMR and other service calculation components. So the calculation of the components of the online motorcycle taxi service costs includes direct fees and indirect costs," said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno, in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, September 7.

Hendro said that through the latest Decree of the Minister of Transportation, the calculation of this latest online motorcycle taxi tariff will officially take effect from the next three days after the determination or September 10, 2022, at 00.00 local time.

Furthermore, Hendro said that within three days, the applicator of online motorcycle taxi transportation services must immediately adjust the price or new ojol tariffs.

"For the issuance (of the latest Minister of Transportation) as of now, September 7th. So September 7 plus three days September 10, at 00.00 the new tariff has been applied. So three days after this decision was announced," he explained.

Increase in Tariffs Based on Zoning

Hendro said the provisions for this online motorcycle taxi tariff were divided into three zones, namely Zone I, namely Sumatra, Java non Jabodetabek, and Bali. Zone II is Jabodetabek. Zone III is Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua.

Furthermore, Hendro said that the cost of online motorcycle taxi services in 2022 was decided, for Zone I, the lower limit rate was Rp. 1,850 to Rp. 2,000, an increase of 8 percent. Meanwhile, the upper limit is from Rp. 2,300 to Rp. 2,500, an increase of 8.7 percent.

"So (the tariff) is at least (first 4 km) Rp. 8,000 to Rp. 10,000 for that for Zone I," he explained.

For Zone II, from KP 548 in 2020, the lower limit rate from Rp2,250 to Rp2,550. Meanwhile, the upper limit rate from Rp2,650 to Rp2,800. Thus, the minimum service fee with a range of service costs between Rp. 9,000 to Rp. 10,500 rose to Rp. 10,200 to Rp. 11,200.

Zone III is the lower limit rate from Rp2,100 to Rp2,300. Meanwhile, the upper limit rate from Rp2,600 to Rp2,750. Thus, the minimum service fee with a service fee range of between Rp7,000 to Rp10,000 rose to Rp9,200 to Rp11,000.

"Meanwhile, the amount of indirect costs in the form of rental fees for the use of applications is set at a maximum of 15 percent. So there was a decrease yesterday, 20 percent," said Hendro.
