Women Report Brimob Members To Provos For Not Having Married

MAKASSAR - A woman with the initials Y reported an individual member of Brimob to Provos Polda South Sulawesi (Sulsel). Brimob members were reported for allegedly defrauding Y.

"We report that there are allegations of alleged fraud under the pretext of a marriage promise. Yesterday the victim's witness had been asked for information by the Provos, ”said YLBHI-LBH Makassar's lawyer, Ridwan, contacted by VOI, Tuesday, November 24.

The reporting party met Brimob members in 2017. The two of them had a relationship as lovers in early 2018. According to Ridwan, the Reported Party had already conveyed to the parents of the informant that he would soon marry Y.

"In 2019, the reported party even told the victim that I will get ready for my return. Our duties will take care of getting married," said Ridwan.

According to the reporter's attorney, these police officers often asked for money during a relationship.

"That has been since they were dating and there is evidence that the transfer was even transferred directly by the victim several times," he said.

In addition, attorney Y said that the reporter was asked to build a house kitchen and buy household furniture such as a television, cupboard, refrigerator and sofa. The reporter called the attorney Y said that the equipment was also to be used after marriage.

However, to this day, the reported promise has not been fulfilled. Even the reported party called Y's attorney tried to avoid the victim on the grounds that his relationship was not approved by his parents.

"So there are two things we report, first about the alleged criminal act of fraud and embezzlement that is also currently being processed at the Bone Police. Second, there is a matter related to the disciplinary Polri code of ethics which is currently being processed in Bone Province, we have also written a letter to the Regional Police," he continued.
