INDRAMAYU - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indramayu Police, West Java, arrested the perpetrators of the murder of a candidate for the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute (LDII). The perpetrator admitted that he was hurt after being bullied by other worshipers on social media."The suspect we arrested has the initials UA (31) year, former LDII congregation," said Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Lukman Syarif in Indramayu, Antara, Tuesday, September 6.Lukman said the victim himself was a candidate for LDII missionaries, who at the time of the incident were sleeping in a prayer room at the LDII Mosque complex, Jatibarang District, Indramayu Regency.According to him, the suspect was once part of the LDII congregation, but because the behavior in question was inappropriate, he was expelled from the organization.After officially leaving, continued Lukman, the suspect admitted to being a victim of bullying by other congregants on social media so that he felt hurt."Then when the suspect was in one of the parks, consumed liquor, and then headed to the LDII Mosque, then looked for a kubalig room. At that time the victim, who was a potential mubalig, was sleeping and was immediately beaten with a crowbar to death," he said.He added that from the murder case, his party confiscated a number of evidences including crowbars covered in blood, Muslim clothes, T-shirts, and others.In addition, his party also secured evidence such as CCTV around the location of four, so that the case was clear, and the suspect could be arrested when trying to escape."We arrested the suspect in Tangerang, Banten while trying to escape. The suspect also took the victim's valuables," he said.Lukman said that as a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code, 338 of the Criminal Code, and 365 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum threat of the death penalty.
