8 Workers In Palu City Wobbled By Power While Lighting, 2 People Deed Dead
PALU - Eight workers in Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province (Sulteng) were electrocuted while repairing the Public Street Lighting (PJU) light on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Talise Village, Monday, September 5."Of the eight workers, two people were declared dead and five people were burned," said East Palu Police Chief AKP Stefanus Sanam in Palu, Antara, Monday, September 5.He explained that based on reports obtained by the police at the scene, the incident occurred at around 09.30 WITA. At that time, one of the workers named Wahyu was electrocuted while repairing the lights at one of the PJU poles.Spontaneously the other seven people, namely Suhari, Sahiri, Hariyanto, Dani, Catur, Winarto, and Sularso immediately rushed to try to save Wahyu. However, unfortunately they were all electrocuted."All of them were then taken to the Undata Palu Regional General Hospital (RSUD) for medical assistance. Two people died, namely Wahyu and Dani," he said."For the time being, two victims died. The accident occurred possibly due to an electrical short on the PJU light pole which was repaired by the victim," said Stefanus.
