Allegations Of Sexual Harassment To Putri Candrawati In Magelang House, Police Calls An Uninstalled Location CCTV
JAKARTA - Allegations of sexual harassment against Putri Candrawati in Magelang based on the findings of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) are being investigated by the National Police.
Director of General Crimes at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi said that at the location suspected of having experienced harassment, there was no CCTV.
"There is no CCTV at Magelang's house," he said when confirmed, Monday, September 5.
However, when asked further about the results of the interim investigation, Andi was reluctant to answer. Including, the question of steps that will be taken to prove the alleged sexual harassment of Putri Candrawati.
The victim of sexual harassment appeared based on Putri Candrawati's confession. However, the location of the incident was not like the initial confession of the wife of the former Head of the Propam Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
In her initial confession that had circulated, Putri Candrawati said that the alleged sexual harassment occurred at the stop house of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo at the Police Complex, Duren Tiga, Jakarta.
However, this time to Komnas HAM, Putri Candrawati admitted that the alleged abuse occurred in Magelang, Central Java.
"There is a strong suspicion that there was an incident of sexual violence committed by Brigadier J against a PC sister in Magelang on July 7, 2022," said Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara at Komnas HAM, Jakarta, Thursday, September 1.
Komnas HAM commissioner, Sandrayati Moniaga, also mentioned that the alleged sexual harassment of Putri Candrawati occurred not because of a complaint offense.
Komnas HAM claims to find other evidence besides Putri's testimony directly. For example, the explanation of other parties.
"Based on the process of our investigation, there are allegations, only allegations, and that is what the police must investigate further and we emphasize that sexual violence is not a complaint offense," Sandrayati said at Komnas HAM, Jakarta, Friday, September 2.
