As A Result Of The Increase In Fuel Prices, The Ojol Association Asks For Tariff Promotion Rules To Be Issued
JAKARTA - The Association of Drivers of Ojek Online Garda Indonesia asked the government to immediately issue rules regarding the increase in online motorcycle taxi tariffs (ojol).
This follows the increase in the price of Pertalite type subsidized fuel oil (BBM).
"We (Indonesian Garda Online Ojek Driver Association) ask the government as a regulator for online motorcycle taxi rates to immediately adjust online motorcycle taxi rates nationally as a result of the increase in fuel prices," said Chairman of the Ojol Garda Indonesia Drivers Association, Igun Wicaksono in an official statement, Sunday, September 4.
According to Igun, the central government can make regulations so that the ojol tariff can be given authority to the provincial-level local government by involving regional stakeholders and association of regional-level online motorcycle taxi drivers with official state legal entities.
Igun said Garda Indonesia asked the government as regulators and policymakers regarding online motorcycle taxi transportation to revise regulations for application rental costs.
"The previous 20 percent became a maximum of 10 percent and was implemented nationally and must be obeyed by all application companies (applicators) to reduce the cost of online motorcycle taxi drivers," he explained.
Not only that, but Garda Indonesia also asked the government to encourage online motorcycle taxi transportation to be immediately legalized at the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia as a legislative.
"Because until now the transportation status of online motorcycle taxis is still allowed to be 'illegal'," he said.
