Not Only Providing Education Assistance, Music Arts Activists Community Also Give Trauma Healing For Victims Of Floods In Palu City

SULTENG - The music arts activist community on behalf of the volunteer musicians of Palu City and Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi distributed 150 packages of educational assistance to children who were victims of flash floods in Torue Village.

"The donation that we distributed on Friday (2 September) is solely for humanity, and this assistance is the result of fundraising that we are doing with Palu City musicians in their respective regions," said Head of Volunteers Parisigi Moutong Zulfikar quoting Antara, Sunday, September 4.

He explained that his party chose the education package assistance, because the children who were victims of the flood still needed it very much even though there was assistance from the government.

The package is in the form of notebooks, pencils, ballpointers, image books, and snacks. The target of the assistance is for elementary school (SD) and kindergarten (TK) students at approximately 150 children.

"We also insert entertainment through various games. This game is part of the recovery of children's psychology so that they are not burdened with trauma even though this incident has passed," said Zulfikar.

He stated that humanitarian assistance was the second time that was distributed by volunteer musicians. Previously, the Palu and Sigi regencies' community of musicians distributed tidiness and household appliances.

He added that the musician community does not only focus on disasters, but anyone who needs it is ready to help, either through members' self-help funds or through raising.

"While we can help, of course we will participate. As social beings we also have an obligation to share, although the value is not much, but at least we can ease their burden. We hope that in the future, volunteer musicians will have a special rescue team for handling disaster emergency situations," said Zulfikar.
