Students Who Say Inappropriate Words For Jokowi Are Examined At The Gorontalo Police
GORONTALO - A student at the Gorontalo State University (UNG) named Yusuf Pasau was questioned by the Gorontalo Police. Yusuf is suspected of saying inappropriate words to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
The Gorontalo Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Helmy Santika in Gorontalo, Saturday night, September 3, said Yusuf was questioned after a video clip was circulated during a speech at a demonstration on Friday, September 2.
In the video clip, Yusuf said inappropriate words to the President and quickly the video was crowded with various social media platforms.
"Due to this incident, we from the Gorontalo Police have responded quickly to be able to secure the person concerned to the Gorontalo Police for questioning," he said.
The police action taken, said the Kapolda, was supported by the campus, besides that the Student Executive Board and his colleagues accompanied him when Yusuf was questioned at the Gorontalo Police.
According to Helmy, the examination carried out by the Gorontalo Police also prevented and secured Yusuf from the possibility of verbal persecution.
"From the information in question, he conveyed the words spontaneously," said the Kapolda.
However, whatever the story, said the Kapolda, it has been handled by the police for the future process to be seen further.
"The status of this student is as a witness, we are also here at the Gorontalo Regional Police not wanting to hinder the aspirations of the person concerned and damage his future," he said.
The approach pattern is soft approach, given the advice that demonstrations and expressing opinions in public can be carried out, but must still obey the norms and ethics of decency.
