In Jambi Waters, It Turns Out That There Are Seascreens, Polairud Falls 18 Patrol Vessels

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Water and Air Police of the Jambi Regional Police has alerted 18 fast boats for patrols to anticipate the death or pirate action against fishermen.

Director of Polairud Jambi Regional Police Kombes Pol Michael Mumbunan, said that currently his party continues to carry out water patrols (rivers and seas) in the East Tanjab and West Tanjab areas, Jambi.

"We use ships to carry out routine patrols," he said, Friday, September 2, quoted from Antara.

Michael Mumbunan said that the Jambi Regional Police Polairud in this case assisted the Unit (Marnit) Headquarters of the East Tanjung Jabung (Tanjab) Police Polairud Unit to continue to anticipate crimes in the waters of the Jambi Regional Police jurisdiction.

He emphasized that this patrol was carried out both day and night in order to minimize the occurrence of crimes committed by pirates.

"Because we don't know when crime in the waters occurred, that's why we routinely patrol," he explained.

Michael added that for the Polairud ship that was alerted as many as 18 ships spread across the waters of West Tanjab, Jambi included six in Marnit Tanjab Timur, such as in Kampung Laut and Nipah Panjang, while in West Tanjab there were three ships, while the other three ships in the Suak Kandis area and at Mako Ditpolairud there were six ships.

"With the number of existing ships, we can optimize it to maintain security in this area," he explained.

He emphasized that this patrol was carried out as a continuation of the fishermen's reports of pirate action in the water area.

"Some time ago, what disturbed fishermen, we patrolled and stood by ships, we centered them in Nipah and Kampung Laut," he explained.

Furthermore, regarding the action of the pirate until now, his party is still carrying out the process of disclosing the fisherman's report.
