Mayor Of Tidore Islands Asks Sandiaga Uno To Launch The Development Of An Underwater Museum
JAKARTA - The Tidore Islands City Government plans to build an underwater museum containing ship cargo (BMKT).This was revealed by the Mayor of Tidore Islands Ali Ibrahim at the exhibition of the largest Diving and Adventure Travel in Indonesia, namely the 14th Deep and Extreme Indonesia (DXI) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Central Jakarta. To the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, Ali asked for support from the central government to launch this development.“Please support the Minister, because we have an audience with the Head of Bakamla regarding the construction of this BMKT Underwater Museum. Kabahamla promised to realize the construction of the Bakamla Stasiion,” said Ali, Friday, September 2.Ali explained that the underwater museum in Tidore will contain historical traces of an expedition exploring the first Earth exploration (Circumnavigation of the Earth) on Rum Beach which sank in the 16th century. The museum will also contain dozens of ejections from the 16th century Spanish ship that sank. There are dozens of temples from the Spanish ship that sank in the 16th century, they have been lifted to the mainland in the 1990s. Unfortunately, these jars did not get the attention of tourists, especially when they were kept in warehouses owned by the Central Halmahera Regency Government."If these jars were returned to the seabed (release) where their original findings were, namely the underwater heritage site in Tongowai Village, these jars would be unique and interesting diving attractions, because they were not found at other diving locations in the world," said Ali.Furthermore, Ali said that the development of this underwater museum proves the traces of Tidore's important role as Kosmopolis Repah Nusantara. In addition, Tidore is a central point in the shipping network and intemational trade on the Spice Line and Sea Silk Road that connects the East and Western Worlds, which greatly contributes to the history of Indonesian Maritime Affairs and the world.Responding to Ali's idea of the Underwater Museum, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno welcomed and supported the realization of the tour. In fact, Sandiaga stated that he would review the location which would later be used as an underwater museum.
