PTBA Saves Rp58.4 Billion Per Year Thanks To Electrification And Digitization
JAKARTA - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) managed to save a budget of IDR 58.4 billion per year thanks to the transformation carried out through the Eco-Mechanized Mining (e-MM) and the E-Mining Reporting System programs.
PTBA's Corporate Secretary Apollonius Andwie said the e-MM is a conversion program for oil-fueled mining equipment to be electricity-based. The mining equipment starts from the excavation process, transportation, and other supporting equipment.
"PTBA can save diesel fuel (BBM) up to 7 million liters per year thanks to this program and reduce emissions by 19,777 tCO2e. This program creates savings of IDR 47.7 billion per year," he said in an official statement, Friday, September 2.
While the E-Mining Reporting System is a program related to online reporting and real time for mining operations. Andwie said, this online-based system can be accessed through the CISEA (Corporate Information System and Enterprise Application) application replacing the manual reporting system.
Thanks to this program, Andwie continued, PTBA can save fuel consumption of 1.2 million liters per year and reduce carbon emissions by 1,677 tCO2es per year. This program is able to create savings of up to Rp10.78 billion per year.
"The total efficiency generated by the e-MM and E-Mining Reporting programs reached Rp58.48 billion. Electrification and mining digitization are also PTBA's steps to support the government to achieve the Net Zero Emission target by 2060," he said.
Furthermore, Adwie said PTBA continues to transform to become a world-class energy and chemical company that cares about the environment. PTBA also has other programs to reduce carbon emissions. Like, switching to electric-based vehicles for mining operations.
Then, refosite the former mine land, to replace ozone destruction materials with other environmentally friendly materials, in collaboration with the international CDP (Climate Disclosure Project) in the form of mentoring the CDP Climate Change PTBA report.
PTBA also continues to improve the portfolio of new renewable energy-based power plants (EBT), including Solar Power Plants (PLTS) with a capacity of 241 kWp at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and PLTS with a capacity of 400 kWp on the Bali Mandara Toll Road.
