Police Arrest Mobile Begal Who Pushed Victims To Mahakam River And Drowned
SAMARINDA - Combined police personnel arrested two cellphone thugs in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The perpetrator pushed the victims, namely Gusti Dwi Prasojo (18) and M Zidan Maulana (19) to the Mahakam River. Gusti was found dead in the Mahakam River.
The two perpetrators were arrested at different locations. The perpetrator with the initials JS (22) was arrested in the port area. Meanwhile, the AP perpetrators were arrested in Samarinda Seberang on Friday, November 20.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Samarinda Police, Kompol Yuliansyah, explained that this incident took place on Tuesday, November 17 in the morning at the edge of Mahakam, Samarinda Ulu. At that time, the victim Gusti was approached by the perpetrator who had originally intended to take the victim's cellphone.
However, the intention to take the cellphone stopped. At that time, the victim's colleague, Zidan, came to the scene.
"After this colleague came and sat together, the two perpetrators came to the victim, pretending to ask for cigarettes. After being given a cigarette, then pretended to show a photo of the wrongdoer's cellphone, did he know the person," said Kompol Yauliansyah in a written statement The Samarinda Police were quoted on Monday, 23 November.
"Everything is just the perpetrator's mode. After asking this, the perpetrator with the initials AP immediately pushed the surviving witness, Zidan, into the river, then the main actor JS pushed Gusti," continued Kompol Yuliansyah.
After pushing the victim into the Mahakam river, the two perpetrators immediately took the cellphone belonging to the victim Gusti which was placed on the plaster.
"He took the victim's cellphone, then ran away," he said.
After the incident, Gusti was nowhere to be seen, while his friend Zidan managed to escape by clinging to the sheet pile up to the Lerong Bay Intake, which is about 100 meters from the scene.
After this action, according to the police, the perpetrator also committed another crime. The two perpetrators grabbed the cellphone in the Samarinda Seberang area.
