JAKARTA - Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.According to a statement issued by the Dr Mahathir Mohamad Office as reported by Antara, Mahathir has been treated at the National Heart Institute, Kuala Lumpur, to undergo observations over the next few days as suggested by the medical team.Whereas previously, Mahathir was still following the Youth Spirit of the Indonesian Movement (GTA) program in Putrajaya on Tuesday, August 30 yesterday.At that time to the press, as reported by The Star, he had said about the willingness of the GTA coalition he led to discuss with the National Insulations coalition (PN) led by former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin regarding cooperation in dealing with the 15th general election (PRU15), although he did not know whether it would yield results.And on Sunday (28/8), he became the main speaker in the annual assembly of the Islamic Congregation Party throughout Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.Mahathir Mohamad served as the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, from July 1981 to October 2004, and 7th, from May 2018 to March 2020.The politician who was born in Alor Setar, Kedah, is currently the chairman of the Indonesian Struggle Party.
