Moeldoko Affirms Corona Virus Has Not Entered Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko confirmed that the corona virus had not yet entered Indonesian territory. This assurance was obtained after asking directly to the Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto.
"Not yet (the corona virus entered Indonesia). Earlier I asked the Minister of Health," Moeldoko told reporters at the Kemenkopolhukam Office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 23.
The former TNI Commander said that in order to anticipate the entry of the virus and infect the Indonesian people, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has taken precautions by installing a detection device capable of recognizing the virus.
The detection device, said Moeldoko, had already been installed at the airport to check for those who would enter Indonesia from abroad. In addition, the government has prepared special handling so that the virus does not spread. "Later there will be treatment, if there is an indication of that concerned," he said.
Denial of Bank BRI
Regarding the corona virus, this afternoon, workers at the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) II Building were reportedly exposed to the virus. However, this news was later denied by the Corporate Secretary of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Hari Purnomo.
According to Hari, the worker who is a Huawei employee has been rushed to the hospital to have his condition checked. As a result, he did not have the corona virus.
"The Huawei worker has been rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment and from the hospital diagnosis, it is stated that the worker has strep throat," said Hari in a written statement, Thursday, January 26.
