Barcelona Hit By Hurricane Injury, Pique And Roberto Will Be Absent For Long

JAKARTA - Barcelona have certainly lost two of their main players for quite a long time. The BBC report says Gerard Pique will be out for three to five months and Sergio Roberto for two months.

The Barcelona medical report revealed that Pique suffered a ligament injury in his right knee and Sergi Roberto in a thigh muscle.

Both suffered injuries when Barcelona were beaten 0-1 by Atletico Madrid, Sunday, November 22. Barcelona itself has suffered from an injury crisis before losing Pique and Sergi Roberto.

The Catalun club had previously been without defenders Samuel Umtiti and Ronald Araujo.

Under these conditions, coach Ronald Koeman only has three defenders; Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba and Sergino Dest for the Champions League away tie against Dynamo Kiev.

Barca were also left out by Ansu Fati for four months after he underwent knee surgery earlier this month, while midfielder Sergio Busquets is still out with a knee problem but will return at the end of the month.

The Blaugrana are currently 10th in the Spanish league standings, nine points adrift of second-placed Atletico Madrid and leaders Real Sociedad.
