Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Expect The G20 To Be An Opportunities For Developing Electric Vehicles
JAKARTA - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin together with PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo directly inspected the readiness of the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) in Nusa Dua, Bali, Tuesday, August 30.
This SPKLU is provided to welcome the peak of the G20 Presidency event which will be held in November.
Delegations from the G20 countries will later use electric vehicles.
Therefore, PLN has prepared 70 SPKLU Ultra Fast Charging units, 21 SPKLU Fast Charging units and 200 Home Charging units in Bali.
The presence of this SPKLU will be a showcase for Indonesia's energy transition at the G20 meeting, especially in the use of electric vehicles.
Ma'ruf Amin appreciated PLN's steps in ensuring the availability of electric vehicle infrastructure ahead of the G20 Summit.
He explained that the availability of this SPKLU is also a way for Indonesia to increase the use of electric vehicles.
"I watched the charging of electric cars and everything was very sophisticated and automatically used the PLN SPKLU through PLN Mobile, and it was filled in 15 minutes, 100 percent," Ma'ruf Amin told reporters, Tuesday.
Meanwhile, PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained that the construction of the SPKLU carried out by PLN is proof that Indonesia has moved quickly in the energy transition.
"This is proof that Indonesia has moved quickly in the energy transition. Indonesia has started to switch from fossil energy to green energy that is environmentally friendly. Of course this is done for the Indonesian generation in the future," he explained.
A total of 70 SPKLU Ultra Fast Charging units were distributed in two locations, namely 28 units at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel and 38 units at ITDC Nusa Dua.
PLN has also prepared 4 SPKLU units that can be relocated according to their needs.
SPKLU Ultra Fast Charging has a number of advantages. Full charge of electric cars with a capacity of over 80 kilo Watt hour (kWh) can be done in just 15-30 minutes from an empty position.
Not only that, the SPKLU with a power of 200 kilo Watt (kW) is also equipped with the Simultan Charger feature so that it can fill 2 vehicles simultaneously.
PLN has also prepared 21 units of SPKLU Fast Charging spread across 15 locations on the island of Bali. Then, in addition, 200 Home Charging units were also provided to support activities.
"Not only serving 492 electric cars used by delegates, this SPKLU will also serve 124 security and operational vehicles and 290 electric motorcycle units used as a patent during the G20 Summit activities," said Darmawan.
He added that the presence of this SPKLU was not only for the G20 meeting but later it could be used for the community.
So, continued Darmawan, Bali is one of the world tourist destinations with an additional advantage, namely clean air due to the development of electric vehicles.
"Tourists who come to Bali will feel clean air because of the massive electric vehicle supported by the presence of SPKLU from PLN," he concluded.
