Polda Metro Jaya Extends Odd-Even Removal
JAKARAT - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has again extended the ban on vehicle restrictions based on odd-even plate numbers in line with the extension of the Transitional Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) period in DKI Jakarta.
"On Monday, November 23, 2020, the odd-even system has not yet been enforced," said Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, November 23.
Sambodo did not explain further when odd-even was reintroduced.
As long as the odd-even is eliminated, the Polda Metro Jaya Ditlantas also eliminates odd-even action, either manually or using the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) electronic ticket.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has again extended the Transitional PSBB for 14 days, starting from 23 November to 6 December 2020 as a precaution against a spike in COVID-19 cases.
As a follow-up, Polda Metro Jaya also abolished the odd-even restriction policy during the Transitional PSBB in order to provide freedom to choose the mode of transportation to people who were still active.
By eliminating the odd-even policy, people are expected to do activities using private vehicles to avoid the emergence of the COVID-19 cluster among users of mass transportation vehicles.
The community is also asked to be disciplined in implementing 3M's behavior, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance and washing hands frequently.
