South Tangerang Regional Election Debate: Old Memories Raised By Incumbent Benjamin, Responded To By A Proverb By Muhammad
JAKARTA - Candidate for Mayor of South Tangerang (Tangsel) candidate number 3, Benyamin Davnie, evokes memories of being together with the former Regional Secretary of Tangsel City Government Muhamad who competed as a candidate for mayor. Benyamin, who is currently the mayor of Tangsel, asked Muhamad about the achievements of the Tangsel City Government when the two were together in government.
"Pak Muhamad has been our Regional Secretary for a long time, has been the head of the Kadis for a long time, but what do we think we have done during the time we were together? What are Pak Muhamad's achievements, what suggestions for the future of Tangsel, "said Benyamin in the Tangsel Pilkada debate broadcast on Youtube Kompas TV, Sunday, November 22.
Muhamad agreed with Benyamin's statement, who was once his boss in the Tangsel City Government. For your information, Muhamad decided to resign from the position of Regional Secretary when he was running as a candidate for mayor of Tangsel.
"It is true that we have been together for a long time, how to build Tangsel. Before Tangsel existed, we already existed, meaning that we thought that Tangsel really needed services and welfare, ”said Muhamad who was paired with Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo in the South Tangerang Regional Election.
"This means that Tangsel does not mean simply politics or sapping up the state budget, but really a need that is felt by the people of Tangsel. One gift for the people of Tangsel is that it is autonomous itself, ”continued Muhamad.
Muhamad, the number 1 candidate for mayor of Tangsel, remembers the difficult times when Tangsel was still an administrative area. Basic community services are difficult to fulfill, and access to education is limited.
"In the past, I felt that when I was a sub-district head how difficult it was to build a school, it was difficult to build a health center because of its administrative status and now the municipal government has made a lot of progress," he said.
But Muhammad who competes with Benyamin Davnie reminds the need for improvements in the Tangsel region. Muhamad said there were still many things that needed to be addressed for the advancement of Tangsel City.
"But there is no ivory that is not cracked. We still have something to improve, for example the puskesmas. My program is one puskesmas in one sub-district, this is perhaps Mr. Ben, this is what we have to answer. Schools, junior high schools, the community was noisy, I was berated by mothers because their children did not go to public school. Solid waste problems must be resolved. Community service is still lacking, "said Muhamad.
