Ombudsman Asks Rizieq Shihab To Be Careful Speaking So As Not To Confuse The Situation

JAKARTA - Ombudsman member Ahmad Alamsyah Saragih asked the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab to speak carefully. According to Alamsyah, the situation in society must remain conducive.

"I, especially for Rizieq, speak carefully. Try to reflect a little, when he was still in Mecca, it felt a little calm yesterday when he came home, it turned out like this, it should be a reflection," in a virtual discussion, Sunday, November 22.

According to Alamsyah, the statements of the elite can have a big influence on society. Elite is said to have a big role in the scope of social functions.

Because of that, Alamsyah appealed to the elites, be it religious figures, social figures to political figures who have a big influence not to complicate the situation. However, if persuasion is ineffective and continues to commit violations, Alamsyah agrees with firm action.

"I have absolutely no objection if the government takes firm action against people like this as a lesson for other elites with all its considerations," he said.

The crowd incident that occurred when Rizieq Shihab returned to Indonesia had a long tail. Rizieq also had time to hold the Prophet Muhammad SAW's birthday and his daughter's wedding party.

Currently, the police are investigating the alleged violation of health protocols during the wedding ceremony of Rizieq's daughter and the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, on November 14. Apart from Jakarta, the police also investigated allegations of health protocol violations at an event attended by Rizieq Shihab in the Puncak area, Bogor, West Java, on November 13.

In fact, a number of regional heads, such as DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, along with his staff were also asked for clarification by the police.

The crowd is also thought to have led to the removal of the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana and West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi from their posts because they were considered negligent in enforcing health protocols.
