Wow! This Italian Footballer Is Thought To Have Beaten His Ex-girlfriend With Palu To Death

JAKARTA - Football player Giovanni Padovani is the main suspect in the murder of Alessandra Matteuzzi. Previously, in August, Padovani was reported for stalking her ex-girlfriend.

The 26-year-old, who plays for Sancataldese in Italy's fourth caste, has asked permission from his club not to participate in the Coppa Italia match against Catania.

Meanwhile, Bologna prosecutor, Giuseppe Amato, denied that there had been a judicial negligence.

"We did what we could", he told Ansa's news agency quoted from Marca, Monday, August 29.

It was reported that Alessandra's younger brother was talking on the phone with the victim when Padovani allegedly ambushed the building.

"He (Alessandra) got out of his car and started screaming 'No, Giovanni, no, I beg you, please,'" his sister told Italian TV.

"I was on the phone. I immediately called the Italian armed forces who were coming soon. I lived 30 km away. In the end, he (Padovani) beat him to death."

Padovani reportedly beat Alessandra to death with a hammer. The former girlfriend died of a wound to his head on the way to the hospital.

"He (Alessandra) was very afraid of him (Padovani) because he became ruthless and he (Alessandra) didn't want to let him stay at home," a neighbor told local media.
