Eight Supreme Court Justices Passed The Selection Of Candidates For Supreme Court Justices In The DPR
JAKARTA - Commission III stated that eight judges passed the selection for Supreme Court Justices. Meanwhile, two other candidates were declared not qualified.
This decision follows a plenary meeting to determine the names of Supreme Court judges, ad hoc judges and industrial relations judges. The meeting was held after the candidates underwent a fit and proper test which was held for two days yesterday.
"We decided by consensus that we chose eight candidates. Meanwhile, two candidates because almost all of the poksi disagreed, (then Commission III) refused," said Commission III Chairman Herman Hery in a press conference, in the Commission III room, DPR Building, Parliament Complex. , Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, January 23.
Herman was reluctant to explain the reasons for the two prospective judges who did not pass the fit and proper test. Because, he said, it was the right of the commission members.
On the other hand, Herman hopes that the elected Supreme Court justices can make a breakthrough in the Supreme Court. He considered that the eight names that had been selected met the requirements and standards of candidates for Supreme Court judge.
"That overcoming today's situation in the Supreme Court, of course, we hope they can make breakthroughs. Breakthroughs are not only about human resources, but systems and mechanisms, then the infrastructure in the Supreme Court related to case handling, that is in my opinion," he said.
As is known, the Supreme Court (MA) asked 11 Supreme Court judges with details, three for the Criminal Chamber, one for the Religion Room, two for the Military Room, four for the Civil Room and one for the Special Tax Room for State Administration.
"Of course, if we talk about the needs of Supreme Court justices in the Supreme Court, there are still many and we will submit the process to the Judicial Commission (KY) and we are ready at any time according to the schedule and when is the time for KY to submit more names," he said.
Furthermore, the names of these prospective judges will be ratified at the plenary session. Then, the names will be handed over to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
The eight judges are:
1. Soesilo (Supreme Court judge)
2. Dwi Soegiarto (Supreme Court judge)
3. Rahmi Mulyati (Supreme Court judge)
4. H Busra (Supreme Court judge)
5. Brigadier General Sugeng Sutrisno (Supreme Court judge)
6. Agus Yunianto (ad hoc)
7. Ansori (ad hoc)
8. Sugianto (industrial relations)
The two names of the judges who did not qualify were:
1. Sartono
2. Willy Farianto
