2,035 Warga Kota Bekasi Terjangkat DHF Periode Januari - Agustus 2022, Dinkes: Jika Warga Tak Mau Peduli, Semua Tak Optimal
BEKASI - The case of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Bekasi City is quite worrying. The Bekasi City Health Office recorded cases of dengue fever during January-August 2022 reaching 2,035 cases and 12 deaths.
This number increased compared to similar cases in 2020 which reached 1,646 cases with the death rate of one person. Meanwhile, in 2021, there were 2,004 cases recorded in that period and 11 people died.
North Bekasi District is the area where the most cases of dengue fever are found. This year there were 448 cases and three people died, followed by East Bekasi with 273 cases.
The Bekasi City Health Office also noted that in August 2022 there were 125 cases of dengue fever. Two cases were found at the age of less than a year, 11 cases in the age range of one to four years, 33 cases aged five to 14 years, 54 cases aged 15-44 years, and 25 cases aged 44 years and over.
The Bekasi City Government is currently intensifying socialization and education on the prevention of dengue disease. "Don't get bored and I reiterate, don't say you care about dengue fever if you haven't become a larva monitoring interpreter (jumantik) at home," said Head of the Bekasi City Health Office, Tanti Rohilawati in Bekasi, as quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 27.
"Everything will not run optimally in dealing with dengue if residents do not want to care about dengue fever. Let's together become minimal jumantik at home and the environment," he said.
Tanti ensured that her party would continue to socialize the prevention of dengue fever to the public, either through a mobile group conversation application for health facilities at the Puskesmas and hospitals to the creation of video appeals from regional heads.
Acceleration of coordination and reporting of cases is also the main focus of preventing the disease, in addition to optimizing the movement of jumantik cadres in helping to overcome dengue disease.
